How long have you been teaching?
29 years
What inspired you to pursue a career in education?
My desire to inspire and make a difference in the lives of children.
What is your favorite thing about teaching or your biggest success story?
My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the spark, the wonder, that comes with absorbing knowledge.
What challenges do you face in the classroom?
Biggest challenge — apathy. Kids not wanting to come to school, parents not seeing why education matters.
How do Gallopade products or Gallopade Curriculum help you in the classroom?
My district just got it for us, so I am excited!
What is something that every student should know about teachers?
We love you and genuinely want the best for you.
What advice would you impart to a new teacher or someone who wants to become a teacher?
Be prepared for rough waters. Develop those relationships, and work with your teacher friends — you need each other. Best piece of advice — don't take things personally!
What do you love to do when you're not teaching?
Sleep — no, seriously, I love to spend time with my grandbabies and crafting.
